Marvin's Architect Challenge: Casey Key Guest House

For a chance to gain national recognition, hundreds of leading architects submitted their most creative and inspirational projects utilizing Marvin Windows & Doors for the Marvin's Architect Challenge. Last week, the winners were revealed..... and one of my faves is the Casey Key Guest House by Florida based firm Sweet Sparkman Architects.



The owner of the guest house requested  a "house in the trees." The architect team therefore devised an organic structure inspired by the forms of the curved live oaks along the Sarasota Bay, which have been shaped by the coastal winds from the west. The guest house is located such that it has broad views yet total privacy. The structure includes one bedroom, a living area with kitchenette and a loft with swooping and sculptural architectural joists. Beautifully functional!

The interior is fabulous too. The mix of natural woods alongside crisp furnishings allow the architecture to sing!

I love the loft. I'm sure some great bird watchin' takes place up there!
